Check Engine Light - P0111 - Intake Air Temperature Sensor

Hi there...so my check engine light has come in within the past few days with this code and I had it scanned yesterday...

P0111 - Intake Air Temperature Sensor - Circuit Range / Performance Problem

Anyone know what this is, what may cause this, and how easy (or costly) it is to fix? Thanks. I have an 04 XC90 2.5T with 228,000 KM on it.

The intake air temp sensor varies it's resistance based on the temp it's seeing. If it shorts out or goes out of its normal range I will set a code. You can usually use a multimeter to check it.

where is the IAT sensor located?

I have a 2004 xc90 2.5T. code says Faulty IAT. I ordered one online from euro whatever. It does not look like anything on my engine. Is there a diagram out there somewhere I can view? I can change it if I knew where it is . thanks for any help
