Common problems

Mine is a 2005 2.5T FWD. It's really the bare bones and probably most stable version. I've avoided any AWD issues people have had. The T6 version had transmission issues. The V8 version had a few quirks too.
Making sure the car was taken care of is important. Even the most stable version of any car, if neglected, won't last long. Having a trusted mechanic check out any prospects might be a good idea. It will cost you, but if they find something that saves you thousands it would be worth it.
Big things for me have been timing belt, PCV service and some fuel system issues. Besides that it's been a good ride. I'm currently at 276K miles and counting. Shooting for 300K!
