I have a new to me 2008 Volvo XC90 with 167k miles. Understanding that older, higher mileage vehicles are going to resonate and make their share of groans and noises, I'd like some help pinpointing the cause of some engine/transmission noise. At partial throttle (5-10% engagement) there is a grumbling loose sound. This sound can be reproduced at multiple speeds but consistently takes place at partial throttle. Off throttle, not present... above 10% throttle engagement not present. In the video, you can hear a higher pitched oscillation that's probably HVAC related which you can ignore.


Unfortunately it doesn't really come through well in the video, but I hope you can hear it.

The issue was fixed by replacing the upper torque arm. The old was was absolutely trashed.
