Sell it or keep it?
Hello-
I purchased a 2006 XC90 V8 with 49K miles on it a few weeks ago. Within a 1000 miles of owning it I learned that the tranny cooling line was ruptured in the radiator and I had transmission fluid mixing with the coolant. The diagnosis was that that I needed a new transmission, radiator, and lines between the two at a total cost of $8K. Fortunately the dealer I bought it from is a reputable place and they're paying for all the repairs.
My question is whether this is an indicator of things to come or just bad luck. Have any of you had a similar problem and if so, did you experience any future reliability problems (water pump, head gaskets, etc.). Would you recommend selling the vehicle or consider myself lucky that I have a new radiator and tranny with a 1 year/12k mile warranty. Should I buy an extended warranty? If so, do you have any recommendations?
Thanks for your help!
