Default Sloshing water in Floor of XC90!!

Hello fellow volvo enthusiasts!

I have water sloshing in what seems to be the drivers foot well.

I came back from holiday and noticed water had been dripping from the front right pillar. I suspected the sunroof drain and cleared that our and also checked the pipe going down the pillar and seems to be draining correctly - if this was the cause of the water I cant see how it could add up to so much water, let alone find its way inside the footwell, and not just soak into the upholstery? Is there another possible cause such as the drain pipe leaking somehow into the framework below?

In regards to getting the water out, I removed all these gromits from the under carraige of the foot wells and a center framework piece, and lots of water still sloshes from back to front when I brake...any ideas where this water could be and how to get it out? could it be in the door?

Appreciate any advice

look around for posts on the forums and check youtube vids for clogged roof drain channels and clogged AC evaporator drains. on many models the roof channels drain via tubes in the pillars and when debris gets into them the rain water can wind up on the floor. Another thing to look at is the door seals being unglued but I'd bet its the channel drains.

Just bought a 2016 3 days ago and noticed the Volvo On Call -service required message. The dealer is performing TJ 31955 (passenger floor wet) and replacing the evaporator drain hoses and cutting out two molex connectors and replacing them with butt connectors. Seriously, this is the recommended repair for the corroded harness connectors?
how many xc90 owners have experienced this I wonder?

It's a problem that Volvo has had for a long time. I've lengthened the drain hoses on all 4 volvos I've owned. (I only have 2 XC90's right now.)
On my first XC90 I got 15 gallons out of the floor with my ShopVack! Then It took about 2 weeks to dry out the carpet and foam!
Now that you have had that service done you should be good for the life of the car. (They last a long time if you look after them!)

What model years are affected by this? Is TJ 31955 a recall or a TSB? v

Lift up the carpet they will have these grommets under there aswell that's what I've done so far, removed the one closest to the door now it runs out of there

How did you get the water out? Where did you insert your shop vac?

You remove the carpets, then vacuum the water. Hang the carpets up, maybe put fans on them, squeeze the foam from time to time - eventually the foam will be dry. (usually it took 3-5 days) There's really not a good way to do that with the carpets in the car.

Unfortunately since the foam is up to 4 inches thick in places, (near the pedals) it might be very difficult to safely drive an xc90 with the carpets out of the car.
