Default Thanks

Let me go back a few weeks.... My wifes car was totaled in an accident (she was uninjured) we hadn't bought or looked at a car in 12 years so we had no idea what we wanted to buy. We decided they only criteria was it had to be either AWD or 4WD since we live in a small rural community in the Oregon coast range. So off we went to dealerships to drive vehicle after vehicle from chysler pacifica's to audi allroad's to nissan muarno's we just drove different cars to see what we liked and disliked. So there was an 04 XC90 T6 (I had never been in a volvo, just had known about the safety aspects) My wife fell in love with this car. It had a ton of power, handle like a car, was AWD with 3rd row seating, and the most confortable seats I had ever put my a$$ in. So after all the searching we thought we had found the car until I went on the internet and seen the rate of failures of the transmissions in them...my wife was crushed...we were gonna have to start over with the search and now had to find something that would meet the standard of the XC90 with out being an XC90.

This is where you come in....I found this website and started combing through post after post and found that the 2.5T were reliable (not quite as much power) but still has all the other ammenities that she fell in love with with out the threat of having to rebuild tranny's. We started searching for 2.5T's and I think we drove all of the ones that were for sale in a 100 mile radius. searching for the right one. One that had the timing belt recently changed, the PCV system that had been cleaned. I even found one that the cruise control didnt work and got $300 taking off the price because they didnt know how to use it (hahaha). We finaly made a deal on an 05 xc90 2.5T drove it do the gas station and when she left the window rolled all the way up then back down and we looked at each other like ohh poop did we just buy a vehicle with these kind of problems...this morning I came back on here searched "driver window" found a thread that walked me throw recalibrating the auto function that took 2 minutes...

So after all this my wife has the car of her dreams, I look like a hero for fixing the window, and it is all thanks to this website and those of you who conbritube to it sharing what you have learned!!! I thank you

More to come I am sure....
