Volvo XC90 2006 2.5T shuts off while driving!
 

Hello everyone. We currently have a 2006 XC90 2.5T and ever since we've had it the car would randomly shut off while either driving or idle at a stop light, stop sign, etc. The dashboard goes dark and the steering wheel locks. When this happens we put the car on park, turn it on, and press the gas. Most times this works and the car starts up and continues to drive. Other times we are not so lucky and the car will not turn on at all. We have to wait at least 20 minutes before it will start up again with out any problems. Some days it doesn't do this at all and other days it will do it 2 to 5 times a day. Please help.

It could be a problem with the fuel system or ignition system. Have you noticed any patterns when it happens, like specific driving conditions or weather?
Check for blockages in the fuel lines and the fuel pump's functionality. A weak fuel pump can cause the engine to stall because it's not getting enough fuel.
Also, look at the ignition parts like the coils, spark plugs, and ignition control module. If they're faulty, the engine might stop working from time to time, especially when the engine is under load.
Plus, maybe, check the electrical connections and wires.
