I just bought a used 2009 XC90 that came with the aluminum Volvo running boards, and I would like to take them off. Each running board is attached to the car with four bolts. It looks like those bolts are also used to keep some suspension plates in place, so I will have to replace them after I remove the running boards. I'm guessing the bolts will be too long to use in the same place after the running board is removed. Does anyone know if (a) they will be too long and (b) the size of the original bolts?
