We purchased an XC90 about 3 weeks ago and it is brand new. We received a sport key and the 'large' key and they both fail to work to lock and unlock the door but the failure is sporadic. I have taken video and sent to the service department but they say I am not using the key correctly but this is our 4th volvo and I know how to use the key. I even demonstrate that I am using the key correctly and it isnt in my pocket or purse in the video. Also once the key wouldnt start the car saying it didnt recognize the key and the car wouldnt start. They also wanted to change the battery in the fob but the sport key doesnt have a battery. I can not get the service dept to take me seriously even though I have video to show the issue. When I take it back to the dealer it works (of course). I want to know what the issue is so I can point them in the right direction because they dont have a clue. Has anyone else had this issue? I can not find a pattern but it seems to work when I initially open the car and then fail after I go out and try to lock it or try to reopen the door. If you use the button on the fob it is fine, it is just when trying to use it remotely. Thanks!
