Xc 90 - Self Level Shocks...
Hi there, I live in New Zealand and have just bought an XC90, 2003 AWD Auto,T6. It has self leveling rear suspension and was wondering if older self leveling Nivomat units will fit my type of car? Unbelieveably there are apparently a pair of them in a small village near me..but I doubt they are units from an XC90! What is amazing is that the car has done 227,000klms and the leaking unit appears to be the one the car was built with!!! Can I also ask if it is safe to swap the rear self leveling set up I have with a pair of normal shock absorbers AND and set of new harder coils as I understand the Nivomat set up uses very soft coils.
PS If I can use the 2nd hand local unit (provenance unknown) I was just going to replace the one leaky one and leave the other as the bloke wants a huge price for them (with no guarantees obviously!) I guess this will be okay as they are self leveling I assume they will work okay together.
Thanks in adavnce for any tips.

My rear Nivomats are shot as well. A local mechanic recommended against changing the springs and shocks to something different. I was fortunate, however. I found a set on a 2004 XC90 at the first wrecking yard I went to, and the car only had 65,000 miles on it. $53.00 for the shocks and springs, should I need them.
