best tire for the S40?

I need to put on a set of new tires and I am just wondering what most people here think is a good tire that provides dry/wet traction and is quiet. I live in florida so wet traction is a must. I am NOT a aggressive driver so I really dont need a high performance.
Thanks for the input.

I have General Altimax HP's on my 2000 S40 (running 205/50x16 ). They are very good in the rain (tread has channels/sipes to push rain out) and are a directional tire. I think they are being replaced by the G-Max AS-03s, which run $80 in the 205/50x16 or 205/55x16 (for the Gen 2 S40s) before install. Very happy with this choice. I tried Falkans and Kumhos in the past and found both were great when new but wore quickly and became noisy.

For budget friendly brand Nitto tires would be a good pick; check out the Motivo model.

Not sure what year S40 you have but the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S3 has awesome handling and traction in dry and wet. Snow is not so good but shouldn't be an issue in Florida. Apparently the A/S3+ has much improved snow traction.

Also, the Continental Extreme Contact DWS is very good all around but not quite up to the A/S3.

The V50 that I just bought came Goodyear Assurance ComforTread and they really suck for wet traction. I hate to trash tires with good tread depth but these things are nearly dangerous.
