New tires for 2010 xc70 Recommendations?

Hi

I currently have continentals conti 4x4 tires for my xc70 (2010)which have worn down very quickly - one is busted so I was told by my mechanic best to change all 4 as it's a awd. The conti's are expensive and since they've worn so easily, I am looking at a possible alternative with the Bridgestone Dueler hl 422 ecopia 800. Any opinions about which way to go or if there's something better out there?

Thanks

Chai

the problem I find with Conti's is that they have a lot of products and some are better than others for specific makes/models. I have CrossContacts (480 wear rating) on my wife's Highlander and they are wearing nicely. I also have had a good experience with General Altimax (700 wear rating -General is a Bridgestone brand) for long wear. You may also want to check out Conti's TrueContact as it has an 800 wear rating. To note the 4X4s have a 360 wear rating and the Duelers have a 640 rating so they will also give you 50k+ miles.

hanks for the advice. My biggest concern although I really would like more than 2 years out of the tires is the safety issue in the snow. The conti's so far have not been problematic and the reason they wear so quickly is because they are softer and that's why they serve well in the snow. I am wondering if the higher ratings would have as good a grip.
