All advice welcome. BuildinAs70 01-16-2008, 10:20 PM i heard good things about the volvo in schaumburg but pricey geoffct 03-09-2008, 02:09 PM I know I am new here, but I am not just spamming for a shop. If you are willing and able to drive a bit, Ken's Volvo Tech in Lake Bluff is wonderful. On new years eve, I was helping mom move things in her V70, when it lost a cylinder. Every chicagoland dealer's service was closed, and I started searching, I found his name on one of the various Volvo forums, with only positive comments. Ken was packing up to leave, but I explained the model, stutter, and milage, and he diagnosed it over the phone. I limped it to his shope where he had a new ignition coil in stock, replaced it and all the plugs. I was back on the road in 2 hours. Such a good shop, I would get a Volvo over another Bmw, if I lived in that area. Also he has a p1800 he's restoring in the back. Does that work for you?
