Hi, I have a 99 s80 T6. I just got the timing belt replaced and a major oil leak repaired by the local dealership. I believe the oil was leaking from some gaskets? (I dont have the paperwork in front of me and I am a novice.) Anyways, now after driving it for around in hour to do some errands, I got back in it at the grocery store and fired it up. It started ok but ran very rough and couldnt even rev the engine by giving it a little gas. So when I put in reverse, it engaged ok but I went to push the brakes and I had almost no brakes. I had to push very hard to get it to stop.

I am no advanced mechanic but when the brakes wouldnt work it sounds like a serpentine belt to me as the power brakes were not working correctly. But, what about the rough idle connected with the serpentine belt? Any clues?

Thanks in advance.

Andrew

The hard brake pedal could be a loss of vacuum to the booster and if you hear a "sucking" sound with the engine running, there is probably a hose that came off somewhere.
