Default My trip meter is resetting itself back to 0 randomly

Car is a 2004 V70 2.5 Non-turbo, auto with 76K on the clock. Every now and then, usually once per tank of gas or so, the trip meter resets itself to 0. Both the Trip meter A and B. Has been doing this for years...any ideas?

I have the same problem in my 2004 s80, I'm not too sure what it is either. I'm sure there is a little battery that is used so the car remembers what time it is when it is off. But it's weird it's just at random though.

I guess it's just one of the quarky things every car has you just have to live with. :/

Well...I guess I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one with this problem...

I spoke with a Volvo specialist and he suggested that he can actually check the cluster for codes (and clear them) if that doesn't help he said I'd need to replace the cluster...
