Default electrical system completely dead

My son's '83 wagon suddenly quit running, and the electrical system appears to be completely deadio, i.e. no lights, no radio. Every circuit is dark. Here's what I know:

- it appears that a splice in the smaller + wire coming from the battery came apart. We spliced this back, but nothing changed;
- in the junction box (shown on the drawing), there is a lug with no wire in it; could these wires have pulled out of it?
- the battery is new, meters 12+ volts, cables and terminals are in fine shape.
- all fuses in the box, and one blade fuse on the fender wall, were metered and are good.

Any ideas? When this splice separated, it's possible that the end coming from the + battery post may have shorted to the body.

I've tried tolinkto asketch of what I'm describing.

Default RE: electrical system completely dead

Fixed!

The splice on the two wires not only came apart, but the whole thing pulled out of the junction box on the left fender well.
