Volvo 850 Roof Rails and Trim Removal - Video
#2
Thanks Robert.
I've tried to remove roof rails before, and always seem to kink them. My 850 needs a new set - but I think I'm gonna go with the trim, not the rails, as I don't use my roof for hauling and I think it looks cleaner without.
Is there a way to refinish those, or restore the original sheen? A lot of the ones I've seen are kinda dull/hazed like those, probably from the sun bleaching them over the years..

First off, I'd try to find some from a V70, they have a rain lip to catch the rain from going into the windows from the side.
If they are not pealing, I would simply use the Forever Black or the Showroom New. That seems to work good. You can also use the bumper / trim paint. The last set I refinished I cut off the sharp edges and pealed as much as I could off, then painted them with the bumper / trim paint.
