I had something similar and I even have an IPD ECU. I had been on the phone several times with them complaining about it. Felt it was not worth the money. One of the things I do like it that it removes the fuel cut off. Bottom line I am fixed now. I bought a Manual boost control valve. Set it to 15 psi and it nails it every time and stays there. Its obvious you turbo can do it, its the other components that are holding you back. I love they power I have now, I was spinning the tires at 60 on the freeway today for fun...it was raining but still, 60 mph...thats pretty good and crazy too.

I think so but I am using a BCS from an S70 I believe so I think the routing may be a bit different. I did make sure that red went to red blue to blue and yellow to yellow
I would like the ECU to maintain control of the boost. Oh I also welded an O2 bung for a wideband in the downpipe and took it for a spin. When it seems to "fade" the AFR gets into the 9- 10 range and witnesses who drive behind me tell me that the car's exhaust goes black...

Well the turbo is going to have to wait a bit, forgot to pull the parking brake on the car this morning when I rushed back inside to get something... needless to say now there are other repairs that are more pressing...
I will double check the routing of the hoses to the turbo though, any new toys will have to wait unfortunately.

yes it is a manual, parked on a so ever slight incline just before a ramp... I just visited the wrecker today and all the bits were 550$. It made quite a mess, the good thing is that the owner of the other car said that he doesn't mind if I just try to buff out the scratches on his. My car took the brunt of the collision by first sideswiping a pole.

The thing is that I normally leave the car in reverse and pill the e-brake but today I was on my way somewhere and as I was about to leave I knew I forgot something.... sat there for a min trying to remember what it was... then I ran in to get it, turning the car off and locking it but no ebrake...

so all the crunched sheetmetal is all replaced. Since I changed the BCS I was wondering if I had it connected properly. I have the silver tube going to the tube on the high pressure side of the turbo, the connection pointing up going to the intake and the right connection going to the waste gate. There is WAY more boost than I was expecting and it seems to backfire a bit. Have I connected it correctly?

Well I swapped the two hoses that go to the wastegate and intake. It is back to being a dog now but at least the boost seems reasonable again. if I unplug the BCS the boost is far more laggy but the limit stays the same. So the ecu is pulling boost for some odd reason. Hos much vacuum should I be pulling at idle by the way?

Well I finally broke down and brought it to a mechanic. He said the boost level was normal, and the 850 turbos typically boost to 6 -7 psi. He adjusted the wastegate a bit and that did improve things, boost comes in at around 2200 rpm but the limit stays the same.
I think that my next visit is going to be to the dyno to make sure that the car is doing the stock levels.

I was just reading back through a few things.
You said earlier that the AFR's were getting into the 10's. That is way to rich I am hitting that with mine as well but I know why. I have a broken stud where the manifold and turbo bolt together. That is causing an exhaust leak and that is why I am going into the 10's. You might have a leak as well somewhere.

Another way to check this is how I found mine. Use a little bit of transmission fluid or seafoam. Suck it into the intake through a hose while reving it and careful not to stall it.
It will smoke alot which is what you want. Check for smoke by the motor. If you see smoke you have a leak.

Well! since removing the turbo seemed like quite the daunting task I decided to clean the MAF with some MAF cleaner. It finally boosts to 10 PSI! but it seems to gradually(1-5psi) come in until around 2500 rpm then it increases to 7-8psi and continues to climb until it reaches 10 psi at around 4500RPM. The AFR's are steady around 12.5 until about 5000RPM and then they drop to 10 or so. When I removed the MAF there was a portion of the sensor that was potted. The potting had shrunk and looked like it started to crack. I am thinking that it may be time for a new MAF, but it does pull nice and hard for most of the range. I think it might be time for a dyno run.
