Post Aftermarket Radio

Hello, i have a volvo s40 2004 and i was replaced my original car radio with a aftermarket one. the problem is that only two speakers work ( the ones in the front on the dash ) and they are very quiet. anyone know what could be wrong ? i also have two wires that i did not plug since the new radio didnt have the same hole. could it be that the amplifier isn't connected and how do i fix it ?

My 2001 with an aftermarket radio works just fine. It's got to be the wiring.

Amplifier? We barely got a cup holder in 2001 so maybe your 2004 has more good stuff. Which reminds me, I have to find a 2004 center console with the two cup holders.

Which 2 wires were not used? If you are not sure, did you check the wiring diagram? Are you sure there is power and ground to the amplifier? What was the model number of your original Volvo radio? What is the brand and model of the aftermarket radio?

I was told that the radio stopped working under "mysterious circumstances" years ago... something about her dad (then 70) rocking out to Eminem?

Replaced the fuse, called Volvo for the code and had it "working" in under 10 minutes. I use "working" as the radio endlessly scans for radio stations, I haven't owned a cassette tape in a decade and the and the CD player skips when I hit a pebble... looks like I have to go aftermarket too.

Well all the wires are connected to the right place so I have no idea what it could be, I tried connecting the wires in a different way but still nothing.
