Default Satellite Radio - Aftermarket/Volvo installed

Well, been to a couple of stereo shops and the dealer and this what I was told....

The dealer--> They can install the Volvo accessory for 893 USD. This will allow me to control all my Sirius functionality via the existing car radio....too pricey!!!

The aftermarket guys-->They tell me that due to the Volvo having a "fibre Optic" antenna connection (???) I will lose my local am/fm stations if I choose to install an aftermarket stereo (such as the Pioneer DEH-P4600, which I currently own). If I opt for the XM Commander or similar device, I would need to use a wireless FM modulater due to the antenna issue, which means a penalty to the sound quality.

Are the aftermarket guys correct about the antenna? Where can I find this type of information?

Thanks in advance to any/all responses!!!

I don't think the Fiberoptics were in the S60's yet. They came out with that on the XC90's.
If your car is a couple of years old then no it won't have the fiberoptics.
If it is newer the dealer should be able to tell you if it has fiberoptics.
