replacing door actuator
Hello,
New to the forum, hoping someone can answer a simple questions or two.
I need to replace the passenger side door actuator on my 2002 Volvo S60.
I found a youtube video on this, looks pretty straightforward other than the order of things, like any implications with the electronics. So my questions are:
1) should I disconnect the battery first or do I even need to do that since I will be disconnecting the electric cables in the door?
2) if I must disconnect the battery, any specific instructions like wait xxx minutes or anything when I connect/reconnect? I think I can replace the actuator but don't want a huge dealer expense if I screw up the electronics
Any other advice is appreciated.
Thx

replacing door actuator
ok I'm posting my own reply/update...I decided to give it a try this morning and replaced the door actuator with a used one...$11 from a salvage yard
I decided not to disconnect the battery and see what happened....fortunately nothing happened for anyone curious....I simply removed the interior door panel, disconnected the 3 wired plugs from the door panel, replaced the actuator, reconnected the 3 wired plugs and re-installed interior door panel....hooray everything works
