Default Turbo booster

My mechanic told me that the turbo booster on my 2007 S60 has a leak. I don't know much about cars.
Is this a serious problem? He told me the turbo booster needs to be replaced and I found out that it's more than $1K for the part alone. He also said it can wait till next oil change.
I want to get inputs from everyone, if it's a serious problem, do I deal with it right away or can it be postponed or can that part be fixed/serviced instead of replacing it.
Sorry if I sound dumb or if my question is stupid.

not sure what a turbo booster is exactly - is it related to a muffler bearing? Seriously though, there is your turbocharger (expensive), intercooler rubber hoses (pretty cheap), intercooler (kind of expensive) - what is it exactly is your mechanic talking about?

If its seeping a little bit of oil into your charge cooler hoses - thats kind of normal - nothing serious. Just replace the hose(s) if they are soft and saturated and be done with it.
