abs, srs, check engine, etc lites come on
Daily and intermittently these things are happening to my 99' S70 with 114K miles
Brake light, check engine, ABS, Flashing Arrow, STC, and the speedometer will stop working while the mileage displays -------.
Also the car will shift into the mode as if you pressed the W button for driving in snow. This is a lot of stuff happening for me to believe I could have just one faulty sensor/module, but I'm not a Volvo expert.
Front brakes are new, rear brakes are 50% worn.
I've read a lot about the ABS module breaking down and needing replaced, but would that cause all of my symptoms?
These codes come up sometime on my CHEAP scanner:
P1618 Manufacturer Contrl Auxiliary Inputs, Auxiliary Outputs
P0722 Output Speed Sensor Circuit No Signal
P1550 Manufacturer Control Vehicle Speed Idle Speed Control, Auxiliary Inputs
Anxious to hear ideas.

RE: abs, srs, check engine, etc lites come on
That sounds a lot like what I was experincing earlier this year. And Yes it was all related to the ABS Control module. I shipped mine out to Victor and he repaired mine. No other problems since. I did buy a code reader so that i could replace the codes once the ABS Controller came back. Autozone would not clear them for me. Let me know if you need Victor's contact info.

before you spend $$ on a ABS module, i had my bell rung by these same things, it was the battery cable in the relay box dropping voltage on start up causeing all of my probs, its a quick check and save ya some $$ i could get pics of this cable and one i found almost burned in 2,
also make sure you have a good 12v supply

Low voltage/battery cable sounds like a cheap fix, and a probable cause.
The intermittent nature of ALL these problems seems to indicate something like you have named.
Can u point me in the direction of the "relay box" you are talking about?
I'm new to working on Volvo's and am still learning where everything is.

RE: abs, srs, check engine, etc lites come on
I'd love to know where the relay box/battery cable is and how to test for any drop in voltage. Been experiencing the same ABS/Speedo/Odo/Brake/TRACS lights for several months now. Before I send off the ABS module for repair/replacement, figured I'd better check out all the possibilities. I appreciate any help (especially diagrams/pictures) anybody could be! Thanks!

RE: abs, srs, check engine, etc lites come on
I sent my ABS module to BBA Remanufacturing. Found them on E-bay motors, occasionally they run sales on the rebuilds. I expect it back on 1/10/07. Weather permitting I'll install it this weekend and see what happens. Info I read from them tells me the codes will clear with some driving. No need to re-set.
Symptoms with ABS controller disconnected: ABS/Brake/Check Engine/SRS lites are on, Speedometer and odometer do not function, Car is no longer shifting into Winter mode on its' on.

RE: abs, srs, check engine, etc lites come on
Got my remanufactured ABS module installed. Speedometer is working fine, ABS lite is off, STC is off, Brake is off, and it's no longer shifting into TRACS on its' own. I still have two indicators lit. They are Check Engine and SRS.
Autozone reads codes as P0722 (no voltage at the output speed sensor), P1618 (SBDS Interactive codes), and P1633 (KAM voltage too low).
BBA manufacturing claimed the codes would clear themselves after the ABS was installed, but I've driven over 100 miles now.
Does anyone know for sure whether I need to clear the codes manually, or since I have an SRS lite, is something else wrong?

RE: abs, srs, check engine, etc lites come on
Get the codes cleared.
Most likely they were triggered from the ABS module.
