Default New here - another alarm issue

I just purchased a 99' S70 Base - clean little car. No remote but I do have the red LED on the dash. The alarm won't set when l lock with the key. I noticed the hood latch on the driver side is not wired - the plug is routed back into itself. Also, the trunk electric lock does not work. Are these two things keeping the alarm from working. Thanks from the newbie! I almost forgot - my alarm horn is missing but there is a plug with a clip attached to firewall where the horn should be.

Not sure about the alarm piece... but

the trunk could easily be the switch that is in the door. I had a similar issue. It removes pretty easy and you can replace it. I actually dismantled and it cleaned it up. Problem solved. If I was doing it over, I would replace it

Hey guys I'm still trying to sort this alarm thing out. I've replaced the trunk lock and added a hood latch with the wiring loom and hooked that up. Did all these cars have alarms or just immobilizers? I lock the door and no lights flash and no LED on the dash. I don't know what to do next?
thanks!
