Recently, my alarm triggers in my driveway, or in a parking lot for no apparent reason. The hazard lights will flash, and I will get the notification on my dash, but there is no audio. Does anyone know what is going on, or how I can get this to stop happening. One more note... It only happens when I lock my doors. If I leave my car unlocked, it never happens.

 

Most likely the alarm siren has gone bad and needs to be replaced.

 

I kind of figured that.... Any idea why the alarm keeps going off for no reason?

 

This same thing happen to my dad in his BMW.
Alarm sirens have built in batteries.
And if the bartteries are old orsomehow get messed up, then that will set of the alarm as a warning that it is almost dead.
What sucks is on the BMW they uses asilicon glue in the unit, and heatskrink the sides of the alarm, so the batteries can't be replaced by the user.
have to get a new one.

 

Any idea about the Volvo siren? Where is it located so I can look at it?

2004 S60 non-turbo

 

VADIS says...The siren it self is located in the pass. side wheel well towards the front of the car.
