Coolant Leaks on Driver's Foot!
Hi, I may try to fix my girlfriend's family car (99 S80) which they say has a coolant leaking problem that has gotten progressively worse until her mom was driving somewhere for work and it leaked onto her foot causing burns she had to go to the doctor for. Before there would just be accumulation of coolant inside the car, but now I guess it does it just if you try to drive it. I'm not sure how I'm going to get it to my place where I have my tools.
Now, I did a few searches and it would appear that my fix is the heater core, but I'm just making sure that's right because money is tight. Other people's circumstances seemed a bit different so I am just making sure this is the fix. Apparently her dad tried to replace some o-rings, I didn't even know that the coolant system had any o-rings anywhere, til I read up here and I guess he tried to fix it from the engine side at the firewall, but it's still happening.
I plan on following these directions :

Where's the best place to buy one, I looked on rockauto.com, with no luck.

if you can get the part number run a search on www.fcpgroton.com or www.eeuroparts.com and see if they have it. If not, they might be able to special order it for you

The o-rings that would need replacing are for the 2 lines that go into the heater core. They are accessed from the driver's side footwell. I would double check them first to see if they are the problem before you try to change the heater core. They are a very common problem.
They are also a real pain in the *** to do but not impossible. You should be able to tell by looking at where the lines enter the heater core if that's where it's leaking from.
