Default 1998 XC V70 project

So ive been looking for a early v70 for a project I found a 98 xc V70 AWD locally for a decent price. needs some work 220k, apparently starts but doesn't idle. If i can get it for around 400-500 is it worth it? Going to look at it later this week.

98s are nice since they don't have the electronic throttle control.

See if it has codes stored and go from there.

Every one with that kind of mileage I have seen for sale has been rough, but at that price it's to be expected.

Expect oil leaks, bad AC, AWD problems, potentially missing propshaft/rear driveshaft

Rspi has some videos posted several times within the site. They show the standard Volvo issues to check on cars that age.
Worth doing some research if you're serious about really refurbishing the car

My experience has been that oil leaks are mostly due to a plugged PCV system. Easy fix.

It's Washington...who cares about A/C?

Drive shafts can be found, and rebuilt cheap.

If it runs at all, you almost have to get it if it's in that price range
