1999 Volvo V70 evaporator can
I recently just took my Volvo V70 in for service and air con regas.
The mechanic then noticed something was leaking and put it down to the evaporator can leaking Aircon fluid.
Anyone know where I can get one of these or what to look for?
Thanks

Any auto parts store. the evaporator itself is not visible, so when you think it's leaking, usually that's guesswork. I did do one, taking the dash out. I could actually smell the lubricant, so I knew it was leaking. Part was $50 and taking the dash out took all day, so it wouldn't be cheap if you were paying somebody $100 an hour to do it. Do you have a locally owned shop near you that specializes in A/C? They'll fix it.
If its the evaporator, the whole dash has to come apart. The evaporator is the radiator like part that sits next to the heater core inside the dash. Quite often the AC drain holes clog up and the bottoms of the evaporator can rust out. My guess is the job will be about 10+ hours of shop time plus parts (had this done on our 850 :-( so don't be surprised if its a $1500-2000 repair quote.
