Default '99 V70-XC ABS error code returned

... after replacing the left front ABS sensor (where the wire cable between the wheel well and under hood connector was entirely missing); with everything else functioning properly... the check engine light and ABS indicator both illuminate while driving (also Cruise Control was not restored, as well). The error message is P1550... Manufacturer's Control Vehicle Speed Sensor Idle Speed Control. Neither Advance nor AutoZone uses a reader that checks ABS (they use the same rode reader I own). Is this vehicle one that employs a sensor that connects to the transmission (as I have read), as opposed to VSS control based on the sensors at each of four wheels? Obviously I'll take it to a shop if I can't resolve the issue here, but there must be somebody out there who can point me in the right direction. Thank-you for any advice, you've been reliable so far.

Has the module been replaced?

The ABS module was rebuilt by Vic Rocha satisfactorily. This problem arose while driving last month, which is how/why I found the failed (broken cable) between the under hood connector and the driverside front steering knuckle. My experience is when the ABS module fails you lose speedometer function and many more obvious problems which is not the case right now. I'll physically check the rear sensors and try to identify a sensor at the transmission.
