I am presently stranded at a friend’s house.
I removed my keys from the ignition while looking for my cigarette lighter and made the mistake of shutting the door. Went to reopen it and it was locked. Left rear door has a mind of its own and wasn’t locked. Upon opening it, the flashers came on and I cannot turn them off and the car will not start. Can anyone tell me what I need to do?

 

If your keys are on a fob with a good battery you might want to try pushing the lock or unlock button.

Be glad you're have access to the interior. Maybe open the bonnet and disconnect the battery?

Perhaps pulling the alarm circuit fuse?

 

you can reset the immobilizer by closing all the doors, then click lock/unlock 5x with the key fob. for the older cars, also locking/unlocking the doors with the key should also work if your fob is dead.
