I have owned a 20 yr old Volvo in the past and LOVED it. A 1989 Volvo Wagon 740GL. I sold it 7 years ago and went car free.

I am now considering a Volvo for camping trips and such.

I'm looking mostly at V70s after 2000 and around $2500-$5000 range. But I just saw this car and need feedback on the mileage for a 1998. From the pictures the interior looks in good shape. Often a high mileage car is a mess inside from use and abuse. I seen some one owner vehicles on carfax. My 1989 was one owner and the car came with a 2 inch thick file folder of maintenance records(I've been spoiled).

Not yet. It was just posted new today on fb marketplace. It's about 60 miles from me so wanted opinions before I venture out.

 

I got mine for $500 and am not disappointed. I'd say it's worth it.

The 1998 V70XC is great vehicle, I've owned 2 of them. I lost the first one to a broken coolant hose and failing coolant level sensor that didn't illuminate my dash cluster icon to let me know I was losing coolant. ..in the end the motor locked up due to water starvation. She had way over 200k w/functional a/c and AWD worked until I had issues with Angle Gear. The main issues with the 98-00 V70XC or V70's w/AWD is the AWD rear driveshafts, Angle Gear and carrier bearing for rear driveshaft. Other than that there solid vehicles.
