Default Scraping/screeching noise in reverse

Hey everyone, after a few days in the garage in our new cold vermont weather my 99 XC70 turned on fine and then when I went into reverse, began making a deep scraping noise. When I get on the highway in Drive, the noise turns into a repeating screech noise that sounds at the same speed no matter how fast I go.

What? screeching/scraping
Where? I've located it in the front left wheel
When? Steady scrape while reversing, repeating screech/squeak while in drive. Same noise no matter what the speed, totally stops when stopped.

I've noticed the noise disappears when turning right, gets worse turning left

What happens when you brake? could be anything for a stone wedge inbetween calipers, brake pads worn, bearings gone. Take the wheel off and have a look.

No, nothing special when I brake, I found out what was wrong, it was those metal shields hanging from my undercarriage, they must have been scraping against something?
