Default Shot in the dark

This might be a shot in the dark, but I’ve had two Volvo V70s, 1999 model, and on the prior one there was an instance where my front floor mats got soaked by something in the dash—can’t remember if it was the air-conditioning unit or somehow part of the cooling system. It’s happened again in the later car. Anyone know what the issue is and the ramifications?

Heater core leaking. Pretty common.

On these cars, heater core replacement is unusually easy. The originals are are not reliable. They originally poured layer of goo around all the individual tubes, and these eventually leak. You can get new ones that are a different style. These are made like a plastic/aluminum radiator, and they may be better. These are made in Eastern Europe. I don't know about now, but when I first got into them, it was found that machine oil on these would smell bad in use, and you needed to wash that off. That might have changed. There are some good sticky threads in the 850 forum that I'm sure address this. Robert DIY had a video about it.
