As described above, the car starts ok, revs with no problem but when driving there is a lack of power. On heavy acceleration there is hesitation and it does not accelerate at all - difficult to get above 40 mph up hills.

No codes stored or lights on dash. Car has covered 195k so is well used. Have serviced it as it was due, oil, filters including fuel.

As the issue seems to be when under load I am leaning towards ignition system perhaps coil packs.

Before I start further investigation I thought I would put this to the forum to see if anyone has had the same issue.

Automatic or manual trans?
At 195K I'd start with the basics. Check vacuum lines for old hose(leaking), cracks and disconnections.
When was the fuel filter last changed?
