2001 V70 compressor on and off with ac off

Default 2001 V70 compressor on and off with ac off

Just bought a 2001 v70 24T with 150000 miles but idle are up and down plus compressor clutch go on with Ac control module in off position. Any help??? Read something about low Freon but is my Ac bottom are off should be never go ON Right??? Other said something about Ac control module but don't want spend money unnecessary. Any help are welcome...

Defrost setting uses A/C as well. Idle hunting can be a number of things - any check engine codes to go on?

Any code only srs light ON. If defrost are ON could be ON the compressor?

Yes, if defrost is on, it will run the A/C compressor, even if the A/C is off.

The a/c compressor clutch may need to be adjusted. I've seen where you insert some washers between the a/c compressor clutch and the housing so it doesn't disengage when it's under load.

If the compressor is cycling I would think the freon is low.

Shims are normally REMOVED (or replaced with thinner shims) if the clutch is failing to engage, and generally only added if clutch is rubbing on something.
