When I try to operate the passenger windows on my 2005 v70r wagon the rear window wiper turns on, but the windows do not go up or down. This happens at both the driver's controls and at each window. And, no the lockout is not on.

 

We need detailed information on what works and what does not.
Does the left front door switch operate any windows even the left front window?
Does it operate the rear wiper? Is the rear wiper switch in the on position at this point or not?
Does the right front door switch operate the window or the wiper?
Have you had any recent repairs done to the rear of the vehicle or to the electrical system?
Do the rear windows work from their respective door or does the wiper come on?
If you open the tailgate does anything change?

 

The left front switch operates both front windows just fine.
When operating the front windows, left or right, the wiper does NOT turn on.
The right front switch works correctly and does NOT turn on the rear wiper.
The only recent electrical work was performed at the Volvo garage when the sunroof quit working.
There have been no repairs to the rear of the vehicle.
The rear wiper switch is in the off position.
The rear windows do NOT operate from the rear switches but the rear wiper DOES turn on when either left or right rear switch is operated.
When the tail gate is opened the rear wiper will move to the off position.
