2008 Volvo V70 won’t start

Hi all - My 2008 Volvo V70 wouldn’t start last night.

The lights come on the seatbelt warning chimes, the stereo comes on, but the when I press the ignition button all I hear is a dull buzz and a click. The engine makes no noise at all.

Last night: I connected a trickle charger to the battery over night - no luck this morning.

Today:
I tried jumped it - no luck.
I plugged in my OBD2 reader - no faults
I replaced the battery entirely - no luck.

Any suggestions?

my experience is exactly the same as this woman in youtube was experiencing.

Yes - I assumed so too, but I replaced the battery, and still the problem continues.

This is weird. So I have a new battery installed, and I’ve been charging it, and my smart battery charger says the battery is full, but I still get low battery warning msg on the dash. Huh...

Could this be a loose wire somewhere?

thanks

Do you guys think the most likely issue is?

A) Faulty negative battery cable?
Is this unlikely since the car has Power, Lights and even headlights work?

B) faulty ignition switch?
Is this inside the Ignition module?

C) faulty ignition module?
Does this require new keys etc?
https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/volvofo...122d665af.jpeg
or D) faulty Starter

Any help would be great, I’d love to have a go at this before having to tow to Volvo dealership and get hosed.

You have an electrical issue. A module is Either bringing the CAN network down or a faulty pin, corroded terminal, fuse, etc. Don't assume though, it needs to be confirmed. You would need VIDA to Check for codes, a regular scanner will not work.

Turns out it was the Starter. Got a new one, works great again.
