95' 850 blew head gasket, now proud owner of 2004 V70 w/ gremlins
Got the bad news no one will rebuild a 28 year old motor to fix head gasket so my 95 S850 w/ only 126K on her is dead in my drive.
I bought a 2004 V70, and within an hour of purchase, a 2 year unregistered/ uninsured 2021 SUV azzho, I mean, owner stopped short for no reason and I slammed him. Hmmm. He was barely damaged....V70? Not so much!
Car all fixed and lovely again, but she has some gremlins: cluster partially working (odometer n time/temp so nominal so far), passenger side lock sounds like a rain stick and doesn't work on key and the hood won't stay open but would rather clunk my head.
I may have found a place to send cluster at some point if the Vo-only boys remove it for me, I can always lock/open passenger door by hand but a pain if I have a passenger, and having changed out a hinge on an old 240 myself, I have to say I'm stumped where the hinge thing resides in the V70!
Just thought I'd see if anyone has any grand thoughts and words of wisdom for a new to me V70 and it's gremlins.....mind you, I'm a fat old lady who prefers the kindness of professional automotive technicians unless it's EZ, in liquid form and not painful on arthritic hands and body!! Dang Punxsutawney Phil.....more snow n ice!
