you can only open from the outside or you cant open from the outside? If you can only open from the outside you probably need to take the door panel off and inspect the cable that runs to the interior handle.
Two cables go from the handle to the inner latch assembly. #10 and #14. One is for the keylock and the other opens the door. Follow instructions carefully to get the door apart - if you don't you will break part #7
