Engine swap in the past…

Just bought a 2007 V70 with a seven(!) page carfax. This guy was meticulous. Every service done. There is a notation of “Engine replaced” about 58K miles ago. I’ve got the serial number and engine type number off the timing cover, (and verified it with the etched one on the block). My question is,….how do I know the year of the engine as opposed to the car? (The engine has some of those yellow grease pencil marks on it that says junkyard salvage engine to me. The carfax notation said “replaced” not “rebuilt” so that further makes me think it’s a used engine. I’ve looked high and low on the internet and nobody has a list of serial numbers corresponding to year.
Engine type: B5244S
B - petrol
5 - Five cylinder
24 - 2.4 Liter
4 - four valves per cylinder
S - Standard, non turbo
Serial number : 3544743
Is there any way to know which year car this serial number engine came from? It’s currently in my 2007 V70 and runs great.
Also,…I read there are two HP versions of this engine,…which one do I have here?

If you’re talking about that etching on the block,, yes, I did look at that, and all it does is confirm that the serial number on the lower timing cover is the correct serial number. I did mention that i did that in my original post.
If there’s another etching that will help, that’s great !!. Would it yield the year of manufacture of the engine? Awesome…..where is it located?
My problem is not with knowing what serial number this engine is,…my problem is not know in what year/car this engine serial number came with. It was put into my car about 58K miles ago. I’d like to know exactly what year it was made, and what it came from. Sort of like trying to find out who donated you’re heart transplant. I understand that’s a difficult thing to do, but with an engine,…my hope it’s loads easier. But it’s proving otherwise thus far…..
