engine very rough when coming to stop/idling
car is a 2001 V70 with 262,ooo km. Car drives relatively good until going to a stop where it will become very rough and idle as if it is missing. There is not much difference when shifting from Drive to Neutral. We have recently replaced ABS module, the light for the ABS is still on. Would this have anything to do with the rough idle. Acceleration is reduced a bit but car does not like to idle at a stop. Went to a trans shop and they said it was fine. engine light is ON, but does not flash, just stays on steady.
-Would this sound like an CEM problem?
-If we pull the negative battery lead, will that sync the new ABS module to the car or does that have to be done at a Volvo dealership?
-Is there any online instructions on how to remove the CEM?

Brandy,
I'm having the exact same problem in my 2001 V70. I looked around online and came up with this:
It looks like a dead match to the conditions I'm getting. I just replaced my cam position sensor and it didn't change anything, but it did get rid of my CEL P0018.
I think that'll help you... It seems to be a pretty common issue.
