Default Hello all. Newish member. Just bought a V70R

Hello everyone. My name is Brandon. This is my first post on here but I have been a regular over on bimmerforums since 05.

I also had a 94 850 turbo wagon. Black on black with R wheels but sold it back in 05.

Currently have a 92 BMW E34 525/5 speed with a 98 528 M52 swap, M3 cams, Garret GT3076R and .63 A/R, Tial 38mm WG, Tial BOV, 3" turbo back with Borla XR1 muffler, TRM tune with 60 lb injectors, M3 flywheel, M3 stage I UUC clutch, Koni shocks, Vogtland springs, 6 piston Wilwood calipers up front, poly bushings, Euro trim, M5 seats, suede headliner, Acura TSX projectors etc etc etc

My BMW is my baby but now that it's making 370 RWHP, I feel I need a DD.

I just bought a 2004 V70R with 80k miles. Black with black interior and cream seats/door panel inserts. I wanted a 6 speed but my wife also wants to drive it so I went with auto. Now my E34 will stay in the garage and the V70R will be my commute vehicle. Super excited as I always wanted one. I originally was looking for a yellow T5-R wagon but decided this would work too

I plan on doing a headlight retrofit, tint, lowered and will paint the wheels charcoal. Also plan on upgrading the stereo.

Will post some photos at the end of the week when it arrives.

rspi, I have been in touch with a local guy who owns the holy grail. And he said he will definitely sell before too long. But he is also looking for something specific. I told him that even though I bought the V70R, I would still buy his cream yellow T5-R

LOL, I hope to get a V70R ('98 or '06) or a Platnimum wagon or sedan. I'm going to clean up my wagon and take some pics myself

Does anyone know if the headlights can be taken apart easily? I plan to do some pretty cool stuff with lighting. I hope they can be baked for a bit and pulled apart to access the housing. Or maybe someone has a line on a good price for Euro lights. It almost looks as if the US could be converted to Euro fairly easily.

The car I bought has the roof rack. I want to remove it. Does anyone know where to get the trim filler pieces cheap? Or do people like the rack? Wonder if I could trade. I do my own paint so I don't care about the color.

WoW A beamer to a volvo! When i told my brother a lifetime BMW driver i was a Volvo owner and fan He was not impressed "oh what a tank" that was my 95 850 glt. Now I am on the V-70 T5 rehab project and the car runs strong w/power,the electronic issues are rediculous and continuing. I hope you enjoy the "R" I know the T5 has me hooked. If only I could get this electronic's and sunroof issues behind me.

Got it at 2:30 am and finally washed and put some miles on her this morn. Love it. Better than I expected except it definitely needs some suspension refreshing.

Once again, nice pics. I'm surprised that you didn't put the R's on the ground (wheels).

Not sure about the lights of the '04's. The 850 lights come apart. You should be able to get some euro lights pretty easy.

I would get the roof trim from the stealer. They should be less than $150 each and will be new and look good for a long time. Most people like the roof rails. I actually went and got a set and installed them on my wagon. I need a rear wing but I think the wing would look better without the roof rails.

Again, thanks for the pics. When I'm feeling a little better I'll check more out on Flicker.

I would like to do that but the stealership wants $250 per side! I posted on here seeing if someone would trade. Definitely prefer it without the rack.

I'm sure you'll find a few takers. Post in the classified's and I'm sure you'll find a taker.

Already did.

I am thinking about opening up the headlights and removing the inner housing so I can paint it, the exterior trim, wheels and grill surround satin gunmetal grey. So it will look more like the T5-R. Like the model I built pictured below.

I hate plastic trim that needs to be kept black with product so at the very least, I will remove the trim and paint that satin dark grey or satin black.

Nice pics! I just bought the same car, albeit not as cosmetically pleasing. Anyone have any advice for replacement parts? The center console in particular is in rough shape with a broken piece and lots of scratches. The glove box has a large scratch on it that also affects the aluminum trim piece. Am I stuck with going through the dealer or do I have other options for such specific pieces?

The leather has no tears and is in good shape but is worn; anyone have any advice for cleaning and possibly dying it?

Thanks in advance for any help you guys might offer!
