High Miles V70 D5
Hi Chaps.
New to this forum as was driving Saab but we do own a V50.
I am looking at buying a 2005 54 plate V70 D5 2.4 SE Geartronic that has done 188k with servicing history. It hasn't yet had a second cambelt change and I wondered when it should be done (negotiation) and what sort of cost. The car looks in superb condition and has been well looked after. All motorway mileage.
Appreciate help.

Suggest you take a look at my thread on this topic
Hi James. I suggest you ease on over to my thread on this topic titled "what to expect on V70 FW or AWD after 100K miles". That thread should give you a sense of what repairs you can expect and their general cost.
Good luck. BTW, if you do go forward with your purchase please document your experience and learnings and repairs on that thread.
Thanks

Hi James, welcome to the forum.
The best thing to do about service is follow the maintenance guide in the owners manual. If you are clocking kilometers your second belt cycle may not be due till about 336,000 km, assuming the first belt (and associated parts) was replaced at the scheduled 168,000 schedule.
Hope you get a lot of good service out of it.
