Recent purchase '01 V70 24T, interior cooling/ heating fan blows on high at all times. (Even with the ign. key out!) Spoke to service manager at San Diego Volvo- said to replace fan speed resistor, mounted in fan housing behind glove box. Anyone else had this problem?
He told me that the fan cycles on for a few minutes after the car is turned off, to remove excess moisture from the fan housing so as to not short out the fan speed resistor. From what I understand this fan cycling happens 20 to 30 minutes after the car has been turned off.
I am waiting for the part but have already removed the fan housing and accessed the resistor.
