Need help- Car turns on but dies shortly if I don't keep foot on gas
I have a 2002 V70 T5
Just had my oil trap changed and the day after I got it back it died on me.
Mechanic still can't figure out what it is- took apart his own work 2 times and says the oil trap was installed correctly. Thinks it might be something else. When he disconnects the mass air flow sensor the car works fine. Drove it and all. But when we put on a new sensor it had the same problem... so it's not it.
The car turns on but will sputter and cut off shortly... sounds kind of like it isn't getting air or something. But if I keep the foot on the gas it will stay on and mechanic was able to drive it from where I was stranded. He'd a good mechanic but doesn't specialize in volvo's and is thus far stumped. I feel like it still somehow is connected to him replacing the oil trap cause this was a problem immediately after... any ideas of something he could have disturbed that would cause this?
So appreciate any leads... thanks!

Most T5s (like my 850) require the intake manifold to be removed to access the oil trap. Sounds like you may have a major air leak between the head and the intake manifold that should be checked out.
