Default No start after fuel pump ring replacement

Hello folks !

I attempted to reset the retaining ring nut on the fuel pump, it was leaking. The previous owner had some kid replace his fuel pump and it came back leaking.
All I did was loosen the nut and retightened it and now it won't start up !
Damn it I know I must have missed I crucial step and feeling like an idiot !
It seems to me, that since I released the pressure in the system, that I either need to repressurize it or bleed it. Any help will be much appreciated !
I'm stuck now because my 2nd vehicle has a off the rim flat lol not spare either

Short of not plugging the lines and pump back in, there's nothing you could have done to cause this.

Nope. It should start, if not the first time then the second time.

Is it cranking? Can you hear the pump running when the key is on? Do you have a fuel pressure gauge?

I cannot hear the pump running, I do hear a click. I did read somewhere it's required to use a vida software to activate the pump or jump it.

If the pump isn't running you won't have pressure obviously. Gotta see if there is power to the pump when you turn the key on. If there is an it's not running, the pump is bad.

It's a brand new pump, all I did was to depressurization the fuel system, it's not the pump. I'm sure of that ! I had absolutely no issues with in prior. I just drove the car 15 minutes before. So please tell me what the best way to prime the pump

There is no priming needed. You turn the key on, the pump turns on. Primed. That's why if it doesn't start the first time cranking, it should start on the second time.

I've seen brand new parts go bad. You said you don't hear the pump turn on. So you need to find out why. If you don't want to check power, then you're on your own.

ES6T,

I want to thank-You for all your help !
I am a bit stubborn lol
So there was no power going to the fuel pump, but it had nothing to do with the fuel pump itself. I pinched the wires for the fuel sender under the access panel and shorte
d out the system, luckily it only blew the fuse ! Repaired wires and replaced the Fuse and waaLaa she started right up 😊
