Default Non OEM Spark Plugs/Ignition Coils

Good evening all! Was wondering if there are any alternatives to spark plugs and ignition coils for a 2010 Volvo V70. Trying to swap my wife's before we drive across the country and wondering if it's something I can use from the local parts store or if it has to be a volvo product. I've had success with Denso/Delphi products in the past, but wasn't sure how sensitive these vehicles are to non-OEM parts. If you have any suggestions could you please provide part numbers if accessible?

Many thanks!
Matt

Usually the problem people run into with spark plugs is they assume more expensive and alternative technologies (ie copper vs iridium triple electrode bla bla bla...) are better. The best match is the part number and design from OEM sources. That's not to limit you to genuine volvo but there's plenty of Volvo Dealer web stores as well as Volvo friendly sites which can provide insights into aftermarket vs OEM vs genuine Volvo. I happen to be in the Northeast where FCP Euro and Tasca Parts are right here so I typically can get next day from FCP and a few days from Tasca (they don't pick parts as quickly I guess). Plenty of other stores that may be local to you. As to changing plugs, best plan is to follow the factory scheduled maintenance. For your car, plugs get replaced at 75K mile intervals, and there's no reference to replacing plugs. In speaking with service techs, most suggest coils just to or get weak sometime after 100K miles and the consensus seems to be just replace them when they break. On my VW CC, I had a coil go at 90K miles - just showed up as a CEL misfire code on #3. Easy enough to replace (except the VWs have this odd way of plugging the coils into a rail so removing was a bit nerve-racking as I didn't want to break that part) and I went with a Delphi part (FYI, OEM to Volvo) so what I'd do is buy a cheap OBD2 monitor (under $50 at Harbor Freight) for the glove box, buy a spare coil from a Volvo friendly store, and if you expect to cross the 75K mile interval, throw in the new plugs along with doing all the other 75K maintenance ahead of the trip

Here's a link to the maintenance book if you don't have your's handy:
