Default P2 V70 T5 Transmission failure

Hey all,

I believe my (crappy) transmission has gone out and would like some advice.

Driving home on the freeway, a loud, metallic, sound all of a sudden started coming from my engine bay. I got off the exit and limped to a neighborhood road. When I put it in park, the car started rolling back. The E-brake held her in place. The engine just spun in every gear. I had a friend tow me home. My question is I assume this POS car's transmission is blown from the inside?

The fluid level was fine and it did have the 2-3 flair issue. I did do the B4 Servo update and I thought the transmission was acting fine up until this fatal issue. For other people that have been in this situation, did you do a transmission rebuild or swap? What are your thoughts on doing a manual transmission swap?

This car has been the least reliable car I have ever owned despite it having only one previous owner who was mature in age. It was in great shape overall it wasn't until it clicked over to 120k miles that literally everything started breaking down. I'd sell the car as-is to get out of it if I wasn't so financially invested in the thing. Any help is appreciated.

Happy holidays,

Jaron

Check the axles and CV joints to make sure that they are not broken.

@ssicarman That is exactly what it was. Local transmission confirmed it. One new CV axle later and the car is back on the road! I appreciate the help. Cheers everyone!
