Red face Series of power problems in my 2001 v70

I been having a strange series of power problems in my 2001 v70 in the past week. It all started when I put the windows down & opened the sunroof while I was at work, & when I went to leave, the car wouldn't start. I got the battery jumped off, drove home, put the windows up, & the sunroof didn't close when I hit the switch. I had my hubby take a look, he checked out the fuses & they looked good, but the battery was dead again. so he figured that maybe the switch broke in power mode & was possibly draining the battery, so he removed the fuse to the sunroof. He jumped the battery again, & the car started & ran fine for 2 days.

We then decided to look online to see how to manually shut the sunroof & read about manually locking & unlocking the driver door 3 times to reset & shut the roof, & figured it wouldn't hurt to try. So he put the fuse back in, did the lock thing, started the car & hit the switch & the sunroof closed, success! but alas, the car would not start again later, so he took the fuse back out, jumped the battery, started it up but it was running really rough. He then took it to auto parts store, had the battery tested, & it was low, so he had a new battery put in...it didn't help!

I went to start it today & it started right up, but was idling rough & the interior lights were flickering a bit. Could this be an indication of the alternator being bad? Hubby is pretty handy w/cars, but not volvos...he has no clue of what's going on w/my car & I don't have tons of extra money to spend at a repair shop

Any advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
