Default V70 new battery

A new battery was installed on the v70. Next day while driving low battery MSG and light come on. Need to swap vehicle for another. While the v70 was headed home ABS warning pops up, loss of power steering, a few other mags and lights, etc. Wife, obviously, unhappy being she was driving v70 home.

Any reason for this? Brother thinks there is a reset after installing a new battery. Thanks from a newbie.

I'm not sure what year you have, but in my 02 there isn't anything to reset other than maybe the radio code. You have other gremlins running around. Sorry.

What year is it???? A good thing to have is a decent OBD2 scanner Actron etc, a lot of times these problems come up, because of one specific component acting up, the scanner can help you determine what's going on in there. I've got 2 v70's had all sorts of little issues, but when the scanner got here in the mail...got them both all running quite well. Without freaking out.

Forgot to tell you, make sure your Bat is of the proper size and that your charging system is working properly, these cars use a computer likewe do which is quite a lot, so they depend on a good power source.

You definitely have a charging issue. You didn't mention why you had to replace the battery, but if all the sudden the electronics start failing and your get all the idiot lights, you alternator is likely shot. Grab a basic volt meter, chekc the battery's voltage with the car off. It should read 12 v. Start the car, or if need be, jump start it. Check the battery with the engine running. It should read about 13.5 volts. If not, either the voltage regulator is shot or the alternator is done for.

2.5TV70:

The car has been sitting for over a year at my mom's while my brother is in China.

Thanks, alternator was the culprit. With the exception of, we think, a vacuum line the car is running well. Oh, and it is a 2003.

Now I need to track down the vacuum line issue.

Thanks again for your responses.
